King Street Wharf in Sydney, is a sophisticated waterfront tourist precinct which boasts a wide range of restaurants, cafes and bars.
The Brief
Brookfield Multiplex engaged MakMax to revitalise and upgrade the umbrellas that had been installed over a decade ago. The vision was to create a unified look to the waterfront dining district, attracting locals and tourists alike to come and experiencing the rejuvenated dining district.
The Concept
Utilising our Centra range of Architectural Umbrellas, as well as the Monaco Linear Edge option, the venue usage of the various King Street Wharf restaurants has been maximised, with the added advantage of a visual update for the precinct.
The Materials
Different umbrellas were chosen to suit the size and requirements of each of the restaurants.
Cargo Bar, Nick’s Seafood, Pier 9, Georges, La Cita and Bungalow 8 all had between 2 and 8 CS38 Centra models, linked with infills. All umbrellas were fitted with LED lights.
MS40 Monaco Linear Edge models were installed at Casa Ristorante Italiano and the Meat District Co, offering those venues more coverage, more tables and the ability to seamlessly integrate gutters & roll-down blinds to protect patrons in all weather.
The Result
By choosing the MakMax premium range of permanent commercial umbrellas, King Street Wharf created comfortable dining spaces, protecting patrons in all weather and providing the resident restaurants with bold, unified streetscape as a base, that in-turn helped amplify the unique elements of each individual brand.
