The WetnWild H2Oasis is an aquatic play zone – the newest attraction at the Gold Coast Themepark.. The family-friendly splash zone stretches across 870sqm, creating an immersive waterplay experience with fountains, movable water cannons and things that go SPLASH! Protecting fun-seekers from the harsh Queensland sun is a series of unique and exciting PVC shade structures, built to blend in with the splash zone’s Ocean Wonderland theme.
The Brief
WetnWild’s new state-of-the-art Slide and Splash Precinct includes Australia’s highest slide tower with three mega waterslides and the new H2Oasis Splash Pad, an aquatic play zone for all ages and abilities.
The H2Oasis is a unique ocean-themed water wonderland filled with towering jellyfish, seahorses, palm trees and conceptualised sea grass and coral. The tropical splash zone stretches across 870sqm, creating an immersive waterplay experience with fountains, movable water cannons and things that go SPLASH!
The client requested an array of seating and shade options surrounding the Slide and Splash precinct, covering picnic facilities, queuing areas and the splash zone to protect park visitors safe from the Queensland sunshine.
The brief called for some unique shade canopies that were themed to enhance the H2Oasis design and transform the space.
The Concept
The splash pad stretches across 870sqm and features an array of fountains, showers and things that go SPLASH!
Keeping park visitors safe from the Queensland sunshine are 4 bespoke shade structures.
1 – A 270sqm Manta Ray shaped cantilever shade structure – PVC Mesh.
2 & 3 – Wave-like shade canopies surrounding the splash pad – PVC (waterproof).
4 – A series of centre-pillar overlapping shade canopies – PVC Mesh.
The Result
The H2Oasis is the perfect summer hangout for all ages with plenty of seating and shade areas surrounding the precinct, keeping park visitors safe from the Queensland sunshine.
The Village Roadshow Theme Parks and WetnWild Gold Coast opened the new H20asis precinct including the slide complex comprising of Super Ripper, Double Barrel and KaBoom to the public in December 2021.
